Atlantia is rich with many wise and talented Artisans and Scientists, and pray spread these words to each of them! We Need A Champion!
At 12th Night Their Royal Majesties will select a champion to represent the artisans and scientists of the Kingdom.
Duties of the Arts&Science Champion are to compete at Gulf Wars and to encourage the growth of A&S throughout the Kingdom. It is an incredible opportunity to meet many talented individuals and both teach and learn from them.
Pre-registration is not required but please let the A&S Coordinator know of the need for table space or any special setup requirements.
Criteria 12th Night 2026
Their Royal Majesties would like to ensure that all participants at 12th Night, whether they are entering one of the official competitions or simply displaying their artistic works with documentation, should be considered as a possible Champion for the Winter selection. They wished to ensure that all possible options could be included for their consideration, and wanted to allow as many possible individuals to participate.
Therefore, they would like to use the following protocols for their selection:
- TRMs Athos and Alianora will select their A&S Champion at Atlantia’s Twelfth Night event on January 10, 2026
- Individuals who wish to be considered are encouraged to participate with their best creations regardless of era or culture.
- Documentation is required.
- Where applicable, Judging will use the current Atlantia A&S Judging Form available here: https://moas.atlantia.sca.org/atlantian-as-judging-form/
- If the individual is showing for display only, their documentation will be reviewed with commensurate rigor to competition pieces.
- The aesthetics of the display of the competitor’s item will be part of the judging since it will be at Gulf Wars.
- At least one face to face discussion between competitor and judge may be included since it may be required at Gulf Wars.
- Much to our sadness, Artisans in Performing Arts will not be considered at this time, since the Gulf Wars Champions Competition is a Static Arts competition.
- TRMs will select their A&S Champion based on consultation with the judge(s)/attending Laurelate

Any individual who is selected MUST follow all Gulf Wars protocols including registration prior to Gulf Wars: https://gulfwars.org/competitions/
- Individuals who are competing or displaying at 12th Night who wish to be considered for Their Royal Majesties consideration will be given a marker to display adjacent to their piece to indicate they are available for TRMs consideration.

All Champions are created and selected by the Crown for the duration of their reign.

- The Kingdom Arts and Sciences Champion is chosen PER REIGN.
- Winter Reign A&S Champion can be expected to support the Gulf Wars A&S Competition. If the Champion does not compete at Gulf Wars, they can be expected to help find a different person to compete as proxy at Gulf Wars for Atlantia.
- Summer Reign A&S Champion can be expected to support the Pennsic A&S Competition. If the Champion does not compete at Pennsic, they can be expected to help find a different person to compete as proxy at Pennsic for Atlantia.
