Merchants
Twelfth Night will host a small indoor market, and small is the point. We have room for eight merchants in a market stall layout, set up so the hall reads as one coherent winter marketplace rather than a row of unrelated tables.
Spaces go to the first eight merchants to register. If you make or sell goods that would look at home in a Swiss or German market town in the depth of winter, register early.
First come, first served. Merchanting is indoors. If you would rather set up outside, say so on your registration and we will see what we can arrange.
Each space is ten feet by ten feet in a market stall arrangement. One space per merchant.
There is no charge to merchant. You pay the standard site fee, and so does anyone else staffing your booth. See the Registration page for site fees.
Load in may begin as early as Friday morning. Friday afternoon, Friday evening, and Saturday morning also work.
Our goal is a market that looks as period as we can make it, and we ask every merchant to help us get there.
In practice it means period or period plausible merchandise wherever possible, and a booth that supports the illusion: cloth over plastic bins, wooden or wicker containers where you have them, handwritten signage rather than printed cardstock, and staff in garb. Late fifteenth and sixteenth century Swiss and German styling earns goodwill but is not required. We know no shop is perfectly period and we are not asking you to hide your card reader. We are asking you to think about what a guest sees walking up to your stall.
Spaces are confirmed in the order registrations arrive. Once all eight are filled, new registrations go on the waitlist.
- Fill out the merchant application by November 30, 2026. It takes about ten minutes.
- Describe your wares in detail, including price range and how much stock you plan to bring.
- Tell us about your booth setup and what your staff will wear.
- Add a link to photos of your work or a past booth if you have one.
We use what you send us to plan the stall layout and to advertise the market before the event, so the more detail you give us, the better we can show off your shop.
How are spaces assigned?
First come, first served. The first eight merchants to register get a space.
When is the registration deadline?
November 30, 2026. If all eight spaces fill before then, later registrations go on the waitlist.
Is there a waitlist?
Yes. Once all eight spaces are filled, new registrations go on the waitlist in the order received. We will tell you where you stand and contact you if a space opens.
Is there a merchant fee?
No. Merchants pay the site fee only, the same as everyone else attending. Everyone staffing your booth pays site fee and checks in at Gate. See the Registration page for site fees.
How big is my space?
Ten feet by ten feet, indoors, in a market stall arrangement. Each merchant gets one space.
Can I set up outdoors?
Possibly. Merchanting is indoors by default, but tell us on your registration if you want outdoor space and describe what you need.
When can I load in?
As early as Friday morning. You will choose a preferred window on your registration and the Merchant Coordinator will confirm your time and door.
Are tables and chairs provided?
No. Please bring your own tables and chairs. We have a very small number available, since most are in use for the event, so ask the Merchant Coordinator if you need one and we will do what we can.
Is electricity available?
Yes, on request. Note it on your registration.
Do I need to collect sales tax?
You are responsible for your own sales tax reporting and for any licenses your business requires. The event does not handle this for you.
I have never merchanted at an SCA event. Can I register?
Yes. Say so on your registration. New merchants with good wares are welcome.
